Equality Screening Assessment Interim Progress Report for Preferred Options Paper (POP)

Closed 12 Apr 2017

Opened 18 Jan 2017

Overview

We have carried out a preliminary Equality Screening Assessment Interim Progress Report on our Preferred Options Paper (POP).

Our Interim Report is available to view at at  http://www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/Council/Planning/Local-Development-Plan/Preferred-Options-Paper .

Why your views matter

Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 requires public authorities to carry out their functions with due regard to the needs to promote equality of opportunity and to have regard to the desirability of promoting good relations.

As such, and in line with the Council's Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) , we have carried out an initial assessment of the potential equality impacts of our Preferred Options Paper. Our SCI is available at http://www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/getmedia/c44acead-3fe5-4a68-8e72-7e663ca9f9a8/Statement-of-Community-Involvement_1.pdf.aspx

We wish to consider the needs of Section 75 groups throughout the Local Development Plan process and consider this initial assessment as good practice in this early stage of our Plan.
